Tequila Poker is a Other game offered by Playtech games provider.
Tequila Poker is a card-based game that combines the elements of casino favourites Poker and Blackjack. The player is dealt a hand of four cards, with which he must decide whether or not to continue playing. You can fold at this stage or continue playing, which involves two more cards being dealt.
Place an ante bet before you begin, from $1 up to $300. You will then be dealt four cards. At this point, you can fold - meaning you lose your ante bet - or take one of the following options. The first option of play is High Tequila, where the sum total of five of your six cards has to be 46 or over - the numeric value attributed to each card is the same as in Blackjack, with each number card meaning representing its value, court cards equalling 10 points and Aces equaling 11. What you win then depends on the sum total of your cards, with 46-48 points meaning you double your initial stake, right up to 54 points meaning you get 200 times your stake.
The second option is to play Tequila Poker, whereupon the dealing of the two extra cards the player must try and make a standard poker winning hand (two pair, three of a kind, straight etcetera). In Tequila Poker, the better your hand the more you win, right up to 200 times your original bet if you get a Royal Flush.
If you fail to score 46 in High Tequila or fail to make a valid poker hand in Tequila Poker, you lose all of your money.
Personally I absolutely loved this game, as it brings an extra twist to playing poker as a chance game. The two different options of what to do with your first four cards - Tequila Poker or High Tequila - keeps the game fresh and increasing your chances of winning. This game allows you to get to grips with the basics of these casino staple games before taking on other players, as well as keeping your entertain.
The graphics and user panel are excellent and with a maximum win of a whopping $60,000 (example: a maximum bet of $300 achieving 54 points in High Tequila or a Royal Flush in Tequila Poker), this game is well worth a look. The only drawback is the annoying booming voice of YOU WIN! when you win a hand, but as this is good news and can be turned off in the options menu, it really isn't a huge problem! A thoroughly enjoyable game with excellent rewards - one to recommend.
